Payroll & HRIS Technology Specialist
Afshan Ahmed is an OperationsInc Payroll & HRIS Technology Specialist with expertise in human resources. Before joining the OperationsInc team, she was the HR/Payroll Manager for TVG-Medulla, LLC, where she administered payroll for 500+ employees while also creating a process that eliminated opportunities for errors. She responded to employee inquiries on HR policies and procedures and oversaw new hiring onboarding and provided support for the talent acquisition team. Afshan created a new PTO policy to bring the company up to industry standards while minimizing the financial impact and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. She co-wrote the revised comprehensive company employee handbook, and identified opportunities and created training and development initiatives for the entire organization.
She began her career at Aon Hewitt as the Benefits Operations Administrator for multiple Fortune 500 clients, including The Boeing Company, Hilton Worldwide, The Walt Disney Company, and McKesson Corporation. In this role, Afshan established working relationships with third party vendors while resolving urgent issues, helped resolve complex transactions related to labor groups and eligibility, and created reports for upper management to track weekly team performance. She was responsible for compliance to client requirements and post-AE data rationalization and cleanup, and provided training to onsite and international team members on new processes and tools. In addition, Afshan established standard operating procedures, including the creation of training material for customer service representatives that empowered them to resolve issues independently.
Afshan majored in Management and Organizational Behavior at Benedictine University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She also earned a Fundamentals of Payroll Certification from the American Payroll Association in November 2020.
