KC Claussen serves as an HR Generalist for OperationsInc, bringing over 10 years of diverse HR experience to the team. Her areas of subject matter expertise include workforce planning, organizational development, change management, employee coaching, employee relations, leadership development, and HR strategy.
KC began her HR career working for Casey’s General Stores, where she was promoted into several HR roles throughout her tenure, ultimately serving as an Employee Relations Specialist. Her responsibilities included investigations, new hire onboarding programs, employee training and development, and risk mitigation guidance.
After seven years, KC moved on to join Minnesota-based UnitedHealth Group as a Senior Employee Relations Analyst. There, she managed a daily case load of 65-70 employee relations matters, performance issues, and policy violations. She also provided employees with performance improvement coaching, built and rolled out corrective action plans, and facilitated internal dispute resolution meetings.
KC then returned to Iowa and Casey’s General Stores, rejoining the organization as a Human Resources Analyst / Project Analyst. In this role, she served as a project liaison across multiple functional areas for a major HRIS technology implementation impacting their 35,000+ employee population. She also developed and executed communication plans tied to the new implementation, and directly trained stakeholders on using the new software and to promote adoption.
Immediately prior to joining OperationsInc, KC spent several years serving as an HR Consultant, providing strategic coaching, consultation, and training to all levels of leadership on employee relations issues, employment law, workforce planning, performance management, developmental planning, and change management.
At OperationsInc, KC supports clients of varying size and industry in all areas across the HR spectrum, including organizational development, employee relations, employee training and development, HR strategy and planning, and performance management.
KC earned a B.S. in Business Management & Psychology and a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis on Human Resources from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. She is an Executive Board Member of the Cyclone SHRM Chapter and serves on the board for the Children and Family Urban Movement.
She resides in Akeny, IA.
