Sherita Washington is an OperationsInc HR Generalist with more than 13 years of diverse human resources related experience. Her areas of subject matter expertise include HR technology, policy development and alignment, benefits administration, employee leave management, and overall HR planning and strategy.
Sherita began her career at Mercer, where she managed FMLA, medical, personal, and bereavement leaves of absence. She also processed STD payroll for more than 350 employees and created and communicated information surrounding wellness programs and benefits.
After a successful tenure with Mercer, Sherita went on to join Sedgwick CMS, where she spent four years as a Short Term Disability Manager & FMLA Specialist. There, she analyzed FMLA and STD claims, communicated decisions and on-going expectations with claimants and clients, and monitored and managed employees during each stage of their LOA.
Sherita then moved on to serve as a Sr. HR Benefit Analyst for The Guardian Life Insurance Company where she helped HR clients develop leave policies and procedures, coordinated data transfers between external vendors, plan providers, auditors, and consultants, and established STD and FMLA tracks and codes in conjunction with internal workflow processes.
She then spent time with Levi Strauss, MacAfee, and Boeing, managing HR technology implementations, establishing employee leave procedures in accordance with state and federal law, and building and maintaining full-leave cycle communication channels.
Immediately prior to joining OperationsInc, Sherita’s focus shifted to HR policy. She served as an HR Policy Analyst at Toyota Headquarters, and as an HR Policy Consultant Specialist at Lowes Headquarters. In these roles, she was responsible for developing and implementing new policies in accordance with federal, state, and local employment law, and collaborated with multiple stakeholders on implementation of new policy and change management.
In her role at OperationsInc, Sherita works with a wide range of clients to advise and manage their HR-related needs. This includes policy development, LOA management, benefits administration, HR strategy and planning, performance management, and other HR functions covering the entire employee lifecycle.
Sherita earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in International HR from Capella University. She resides in Grapevine, TX.
