Tye Taylor serves as a Manager, HR / Training & Development at OperationsInc, bringing over 25 years of diverse HR leadership experience to the team. He serves as a subject matter expert in most areas of HR, including diversity and inclusion, workplace equity, training and development, employee relations, workplace investigations, and affirmative action.
Tye began his career as an Affirmative Action Specialist at CH2M Hill in New York, where he managed the development strategy for affirmative action programs at the group’s 34 locations and coordinated diversity recruitment efforts.
Thereafter, Tye moved on to join the Sports and Entertainment cable network, ESPN in Bristol, CT as the Recruitment Specialist where he helped to launch their first ATS, staff the production team of ESPN 2, and served as the Affirmative Action Specialist for AA/EEO planning, compliance reviews, and introducing diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Tye later moved on to join the media giant Viacom, where he served for the next three years as a Sr. Employee Relations and Recruitment Representative, developing and managing the organization’s Affirmative Action Program, leading and successfully completing many OFCCP compliance reviews, managing diversity challenges, recruiting for most associated companies, such as MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Showtime Networks, etc., and leading employee claims investigations.
From there, Tye returned to ESPN in NYC as an HR Manager where he managed all diversity and inclusion efforts as well as AAP planning, improving diversity representation among the network’s senior level management. He also managed the recruiting, employee relations, and employee development functions for all national affiliates.
Moving next to the telecommunications space, Tye joined Cablevision as Director, Human Resources, where he spent the next thirteen years leading the telecommunication group’s HR function. Throughout his tenure, Tye led employee relations, affirmative action, talent management, employee training, and talent acquisition initiatives across the organization. He also focused closely on building and nurturing a fair and respectful work environment.
Most recently before coming on board at OperationsInc, Tye spent several years in the HR consulting space, where he further established himself as a thought leader and subject matter expert in these areas of diversity and inclusion and workplace policy.
In his role at OperationsInc, Tye supports the HR and Training function of a wide range of clients of varying size and industry. He works closely with clients to help them develop DEI strategy and policy, resolve employee relations issues, and improve their overall workplace.
Tye is alos an Adjunct Professor at Kean University, where he teaches courses tied to HR Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management.
Tye earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon State University, a mini-MBA in Finance from Rutgers University, and an M.A. in Adult Education and Training from the University of Pheonix. He is also a trained motivational speaker under the Les Brown Institute, certified trainer in Inclusive Leadership from GP Strategies/Blessing White, Certified train-the-trainer with DDI International, a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and a member of both the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the National Black MBA Association.
Outside of his work with OperationsInc, Tye is active within his local community, serving as a coach of young adults from underprivileged neighborhoods teaching entrepreneurial skills. He is a father to college aged twins and is a former NCAA Division I football player.
