California Earned Income Tax Credit Notice

Filling The Tax FormEffective January 1, 2017, California employers will be required to notify employees of their potential eligibility for Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC). Under the Earned Income Tax Credit Information Act, employers must notify employees within one week of providing a Form W-2 or Form 1099 that they may be eligible for both the federal and state EITC. This notification is now in addition to the requirement that employers notify employees regarding the federal EITC, a law that has been in place for several years.
