Employee Dress Codes

Not easily. Seriously, a policy statement with details on what is NOT appropriate may be easier to draft than one that describes what is appropriate. Some firms have created posters that show the “do’s and don’ts” in terms of dress code. Lastly, in one firm I ran a mock company fashion show. We had several employees dress in proper…and improper work attire. We then dramatically paraded them down a runway of tables in our cafeteria in front of the entire office population, complete with music and photographers, describing the attire as either appropriate….or inappropriate. It was a great event that sent the message we wanted to send….as well as boosted morale and put smiles on a lot of faces.
