Reasons for Seeking a New Job

“What was the catalyst that resulted in you seeking a new job?”

At some point in every candidate’s immediate past they decided it was time to get their resume together. Setting aside those who tell you it was because they were laid off, fired, etc., you are looking closely at the answers from those otherwise gainfully employed without such an event as a catalyst. Fight with their boss? Passed over for a promotion? Receipt of a less than favorable review or adequate salary increase? You will learn a great deal from the answer to this question, especially if their reasons for initiating a job search could easily occur again if its likely to happen when they become your employee.
