The Commute

How long it will take your prospective new employee to get to and from your office is a critical question that must be asked, many times early on in the interviewing process. While many candidates will tell you they are totally fine with a 60 mile commute, they can rapidly become worn down and demotivated after traveling that distance over time. Compare their current commute with the one they’d be making to your offices. Also consider what time of the day employees need to be in the office  in order to get things done as sometimes that may be after 5 or before 9, which could clash with commutes.
