Norwalk, CT. [March 22, 2018] In the wake of the #MeToo movement and the continuation of harassment allegations, the number of employers planning to offer Sexual Harassment Prevention training has jumped, as has the number of area businesses who plan to offer more training this year than in 2017.
Last month’s Employee Training & Development Planning 2018 flash survey, conducted by HR outsourcing and consulting firm OperationsInc (www.OperationsInc.com), has found that 94 percent of participating employers plan to offer Sexual Harassment Prevention Training. This is a significant increase from last year’s survey, in which 73 percent of area businesses indicated that they planned to offer anti-harassment training.
“Attitudes by employers have definitely shifted,” said OperationsInc CEO David Lewis. “We’re not only seeing more prospective clients contact us about training. We’re seeing clients more intent on understanding how our program will impact the students and change behavior.”
Additionally, 77 percent of respondents indicated that an increased public focus on workplace harassment had an influence on their 2018 training plans.
ADDITIONAL KEY SURVEY FINDINGS:
- Over 85% of respondents indicated that a general goal towards developing employees was an influencing factor in their 2018 training plans.
- 85% of respondents provide Management/Leadership training to employees at least every one to three years.
- In the 2017 survey, 50% of respondents indicated that they planned to offer more training in the coming year, as compared to 60% who answered as such in this year’s survey.
