02/15/2006

Stamford, CT. [February 15, 2006] It is with great excitement that OperationsInc, a leading human resources consulting firm based in Stamford, CT, announces the hiring of the newest member of their team – Erin Karnik, assuming the role of Intern. Erin is the fourth student from the University of New Haven (UNH) to join the OperationsInc team as a result of a successful partnership with the UNH Graduate Assistant Internship Program.

A mutually beneficial experience, OperationsInc has worked with students participating in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology (MAIOP HR/OD) graduate programs at UNH to obtain the practical work experience needed to enhance their studies and better prepare them for the future. “We strive to deliver a balanced and educational experience for our interns”, said David Lewis, President of OperationsInc. “In concert with that goal Erin will have an opportunity to work with several of our team members supporting multiple clients, truly broadening her HR experience in the process.”

According to Professor Stuart Sidle, Director of the MAIOP HR/OD graduate program at the University of New Haven, 2005 was an excellent year for placing our students in Human Resource Management Internships.  Students developed specialized HR career skills in a wide variety of organizations this past year including OperationsInc. “It is looking like 2006 will be another great year for landing HR related internships based on the large number of requests for our graduate students so far” added Sidle. “I am thrilled to have internship sponsors like OperationsInc who provide our students with hands on experience assisting with meaty human resource projects and exposure to the consulting process.”

Working directly with the President on the assembly of project matter for OperationsInc clients — Erin will be involved in various projects of a Human Resources nature, including the development of employee handbooks, policy development, job description evaluation and augmentation, and overall HR Administration. In addition, Erin will continue her involvement with the Society for Human Resource Management with her support of the New Haven & Fairfield County Chapters. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware and is scheduled to graduate with a Masters of Arts  in  I/O Psychology from the University of New Haven in 2007.
