EEOC Requests Update on Status of EEO-1 Pay Data Reporting Requirement

The acting Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has requested an “answer on the status of the new EEO-1 requirement” from the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), “stressing that an answer on the status of the new EEO-1 requirement should be issued this month”. The updated EEO-1 report would require employers “to disclose pay data information in the form of summary pay and aggregate hours worked data based on sex, race, and ethnicity”. It is important to note that the revised EEO-1 report has not been rescinded. Therefore, employers should prepare to meet the requirements of the new report by the filing deadline of March 31, 2018.
