Coaching & Managing with Emotional Intelligence

Strong emotional intelligence is critical for employees at all levels of an organization, but even more so for those in managerial and leadership roles. This course will provide the strategies, tools, and approaches necessary to improve awareness and management of workplace emotions that will enable participants to lead more successfully in a workplace environment.

WHAT THIS COURSE COVERS:

Through a blend of lecture, group discussion, and workshop style activities, this course will cover:

  • Positive correlations between emotional intelligence and effective leadership.
  • The root causes of emotion and how to use these feelings to benefit the organization.
  • Communication strategies to meet team members where they are and facilitate productive conversations.
  • Approaches to understand one’s own emotions and how they impact short and long-term response.
  • Indicators of emotional response in others, including leaders, peers, and direct reports, and strategic approaches designed to yield desired and favorable outcomes.
  • Coaching strategies, including use of the GROW model, and adopting a uniform but equitable coaching and leadership approach.

Throughout the interactive course, participants will review scenarios and case studies designed to drive a thoughtful and active conversation. Each workshop-style exercise will enable participants to practice the skills they are learning in real time, enabling attendees to apply the skills they have learned to their immediate workplace.

This course can be delivered in a group environment or in a one-on-one coaching session. Course content is fully customizable based on your organization’s unique challenges and goals.
